Here is a summary of the 2026 Salmon Season for Newport, Oregon:
- Chinook Fishery:
- March 15- October 31
- Open seven days per week.
- Chinook minimum size limit of 24 inches total length.
- Limit: Two salmon per day. (Includes coho when season open)
- Summer Coho Fishery:
- June 6 – August 23 (47,600 marked coho quota*).
- Open seven days per week.
- Coho minimum size limit of 16 inches total length.
- All retained coho must be marked. (Hatchery)
- Limit: Two salmon per day. (Chinook and Coho combined)
- Fall Coho Fishery:
- September 1- September 30 (approx. 27,500 coho*)
- Open seven days per week.
- Coho minimum size limit of 16 inches total length.
- All coho may be retained. (Hatchery and Wild))
- Limit: Two salmon per day. (Chinook and Coho combined)
- *Open days may be modified in-season.
